Let Me Tell You a Ghost Story...

I’m starting off my Ghost Stories series by sharing a story I often tell my psychic mentorship clients since there are some key lessons present in this experience. It’s so interesting, isn’t it? How every ghostly experience arrives to teach us more about ourselves and the world we live in?

Let’s dive in!

This story begins on a property I was doing a clearing and protection for. While home clearings can be done remotely in a process where I connect into the energy of the space, in this instance I was drawn to the physical property. Whenever I do anything along these lines, I ensure I am grounded, connected and protected as you just never know what you’ll encounter on a property, I had done all of this before arriving yet the moment I stepped foot on the land–I just felt weird.

It didn’t take me long to realize that there was a young girl trapped there on the property. As I learned her story, I soon uncovered that her family’s belief systems were keeping her there. She had lived over two centuries ago as part of a pioneer group coming to this land, and was a very gifted seer. As you can imagine, living in the time period she did, these kinds of gifts were not openly embraced. In fact, they were dreaded and feared and this poor girl was told she was the work of the devil. Ugh. There I was, taking in this girl’s story, learning that her parents tried to ‘wash her gifts’ out of her. They tried to ‘kill the demon in her’ by making her drink poison, leaving her behind, alone on the land, which all ultimately ended in her demise. Her fear and confusion in her ghost form was overwhelming and I didn’t doubt that the people currently inhabiting this property felt her emotions as well. The poor thing was just so confused, thinking the worst of herself, utterly terrified.

And I was confused, due to the fact that I had every protection in place and this girl still found her way through to me and my energy. When I left the property, she had entered my energy. I was so sick. I won’t get into all the details of the physical affect she had on me, but it wasn’t pretty. Stepping out of the shower, trying to regain my composure, I saw her there, staring back at me through the steamy mirrored glass, gazing right at me with her wide, pleading eyes.

That look has stayed with me long after that moment. As unpleasant of an experience as it was to be energetically attached to this girl, I realized that she needed a safe host to help her leave the land she was stuck on. She needed me, someone she could trust to finally give her the help she so longed for. As I helped her cross over to finally find peace and understanding, I knew I had protected every inch of my body–except my feet when I walked onto that property that day. That is how she attached to me.

This now comes up as a lesson for me and my students. There can be no gaps left exposed when you’re doing this kind of work or when you’re in an area where you feel you need to protect yourself energetically.

While I’m so happy I was able to help this poor sweet girl, freeing her from such sadness and confusion, I am also mindful of my body, doing all I can to never fall ill from energy attachments if it can be avoided.

This story is steeped in tragedy for a girl that was horribly abused, dying before her time, in an era that did not understand her beautiful gifts. But she’s now at peace, the land is free of her pain and I learned a lesson I can pass down to all my sensitives here.

Ghosts can be alluring and exciting but they were once people and deserve the respect, compassion and understanding as you would give anyone else. There is always so much more to their story than we ever first imagine.

Stay tuned for my next instalment in my Ghost Stories series and as always, I’d love to hear your own experiences! Leave them in the comments below.

Happy October,

Annmarie
