Let Me Tell You a Ghost Story

It all begins on a dark and stormy night, with a loud bang that could not be explained…

Okay, now that I have your attention… I’m just kidding with the theatrics. Well, sort of. You see, ghost energy has been around me for most of my life. It’s something I’ve learned to adapt to, something I’ve asked the Universe to make manageable so that I’m not constantly startled by an entity staring me down every time I turn a corner. Most of the time it’s mundane and harmless, it’s nothing wild and scary - just a nice lady popping in to help me make lunches for my children on a weekday years ago.

Ghosts themselves do not need to be feared. They are earth-bound spirits on their own journey back home. Sometimes they’re stuck. Sometimes they’re not ready to move on. Often they need a little help to get where they’re going. Today, I’ll be sharing some of my own experiences with you, showing you a glimpse into my world, diving into the most memorable ghost energy that has interacted with me over the years.

So back to the nice lady who decided to help me make my kids’ lunches years ago. I could see her plainly with my eyes as she stood in my kitchen, her hands extended out, ready to help. I was surprised by the gesture, but she simply wanted to be there, assisting as I completed this everyday task. It was interesting, really, more than anything else. And then she was gone and that was that. Another time, I was in my bathroom doing my hair like any other morning. All of a sudden, I see a woman standing behind me. She had her hands on my hair in a loving way, trying to help me with it. It wasn’t a terrifying moment, no. Catching someone otherworldly in a mirror reflection is usually an unsettling feeling for most people, I get that - but this wasn’t. I could tell she was from New York. She didn’t share much else – just her caring energy and a desire for me to have a good hair day…

Ghost energy is not always human spirits. I’ve had many experiences with animals in the field behind my house – horses and dogs especially. So much so that I’d just sit in my backyard and watch them. Why were they there? For a variety of reasons, which I’ll dive into in a future post. But back to the human spirits. A little while ago I had a chef drop in. While this could have been a perfect opportunity to learn a few culinary secrets and delicious recipes from him, all he wanted to do was watch TV with me. He just wanted to be near me. He wanted to share his story, a little bit about himself, as he sat calmly next to me. And then, like most of the others, he was gone, on his way. Many times these energies sit in the car with me on trips around town. I mean, car rides are never boring, that’s for sure!

Another memorable ghost interaction was a man who worked on the train tracks many decades ago. He actually decided to be one of my guides for a while, helping the flow of energy so I wasn’t overwhelmed by all the ghost energy finding its way to me. He would order the ghosts in a line for me, acting as the gatekeeper so I wasn’t bombarded by too many at once, especially in times where I needed peace and quiet. You know, like bedtime. His name was Ted and he’s since crossed over to be with his family who were waiting for him. He just wanted to ensure I was okay first, before he left, and I’m entirely grateful for what he did for me.

There was another time when I was watching a movie with my husband and children, years ago, and our family dog, Jessie, ran from us, over to the kitchen. She ran right to the corner where she usually receives treats. We all looked at her and knew, she saw the ghost and actually expected a treat from them. It was an interesting experience because my children had never witnessed anything like this and we all stared, watching in amazement. The ghost must have told Jessie to go because our sweet dog came running right back to us and stuck right to our sides after that. The ghost didn’t mean her any harm, she was just observing us and Jessie had mistaken her from one of the family.

Since all of these experiences, I have learned, most of all, to create boundaries. I have strict protection around my home so that ghosts can rarely enter anymore. The dark energies are definitely not allowed in. While most entities are usually only around me to drop in and tell their stories, not meaning any harm, I still need to function in my day. I can’t have a group of cowboys gallivanting around my bedroom at three a.m., causing havoc while I’m trying to sleep (yes, this did happen). I’ve asked the Universe to make it all manageable for me and, thankfully, I’m not often disrupted or startled anymore. I’m here to help them, yes, but it’s not helpful to anyone involved if I’m overwhelmed or bombarded.

This is just a glimpse into my life between the layers. But let me know – would you like to hear more on my experiences with earth-bound spirits? Do you have ghost stories of your own? Feel free to share below! And if you’re needing extra guidance navigating the energy around you, or individuals popping in to share thoughts from the other side, book a session with me and I’ll help bring clarity around what is happening.

Sending love, light and angelic blessings,

Annmarie
