When the Dark Masquerades as the Light - How to Ensure You Know the Difference
The darkness can be a misleading thing. It should be obvious, right? The dark is, well, dark. Dense, negative, low-vibrational, stress-inducing and does not make you feel good. The light, on the other hand is pure love, supportive, flowing, truly uplifting to be around. The difference between the two should be blatantly obvious, yet I’ve witnessed something occurring more often than I’d like to right now – the dark masquerading as the light.
And getting away with it.
I mean, I’m not surprised. The dark will do whatever it can to trick and mislead us and for those who are newly awakened or in the early stages of their spiritual journey, this can be hella confusing and not a good thing at all. I’ve spoken with other light workers and they’ve seen this happening more often as well. The dark is presenting itself as the light and too many people are falling for it. I’m coming here today with this message so we can truly shine the light on this issue, freeing ourselves from anything disruptive and negative.
Let’s begin.
How can you truly tell the difference between the white light and darkness pretending to be it? It requires tapping into a deeper sense of feeling in your body or noticing your clairsentience, which is about feeling and receiving information and messages through physical sensations in your body. The more you pay attention to your body in a variety of situations, noticing what a YES feels like and also, what a distinct NO feels like, you’ll begin to gain clarity on what feels right and what doesn’t. A YES could feel like an excited dancing in your stomach or pleasant tingling in your fingertips. A NO could feel like a constriction in your chest or a severe twisting in your gut. It is absolutely necessary to pay attention to these physical sensations as often as you can as they are telling you everything you need to know. What you feel and where it shows up in your body will be specific to you, so becoming familiar with your body’s reactions will be a great place to start in your journey of deciphering and discernment.
So then how does this relate to dark and white light energy? Even when something is presenting itself as bright, positive light, you will be able to feel the difference if you are aware and paying close attention. Let’s say an opportunity arises that looks amazing on paper. You’re drawn to it and it promises great rewards and everything you’ve been asking for. This could be a new job, a new partner, a friendship or a new project. It’s pulling you in and it’s hard to resist. But when you stop to feel into it, it doesn’t feel good in your body. In fact, you experience the unpleasant physical sensations that come with a NO for you. This could mean the opportunity is just not meant for you. Or, it could mean it’s the darkness masquerading as the light to lure you in.
The next part to creating an understanding between the light and the dark is to make time for doing the inner work. I have spent a lot of time working through my shadows. This has looked like acknowledging and releasing past life traumas, patterns and narratives that no longer serve me. This has looked like working through obstacles in this lifetime – emotional and physical. There have been times where I’ve had to truly come to terms with different relationships in my life, understanding which ones were healthy for me and which ones weren’t, releasing the ones that had essentially run their course. None of this has been easy, but because I’ve spent a lot of time with my shadows and the darkness around them, I know, very well, what the dark looks like. I say all this to show you that you must do your own shadow work, you must look at your inner obstacles and areas for growth in order to create the strongest understanding of what the darkness feels like. Because once you’ve truly felt it, it’s very hard to mistake it for the white light.
This lesson of deciphering between light and dark is coming at all of us right now so that we can become more aware, more discerning, growing as spiritual leaders in our world. No one likes to be tricked and it can be quite irritating and destructive to be led down a path of darkness thinking we are sharing the light. It’s time to put an end to it, to take our power back. This year is about uncovering your purpose and connecting deeper to your body and the guidance that arises there. Notice your feelings, notice frequencies, notice, notice, notice. And trust yourself. The more you practice, the more you will know when something feels entirely wrong in your system.
And remember, you’ve got this. You are always divinely supported. By trusting your gut and following those intuitive nudges, you will avoid being led astray.
